Yes, you can submit your entry with a placeholder description and upload supporting materials later as long as everything is complete before judging begins. Note that your category selection cannot be edited once you have made payment.

A single entry consists of one individual project, product, or service that allows you to submit up to three pieces of supporting material. A campaign entry allows you to submit up to five items related to an integrated, multimedia campaign or initiative. Both entry types are evaluated against the same standards of excellence.

Each entry requires a written description and supporting materials (images, video content, website links, PDFs, etc.) relevant to your work. The more comprehensive, the better judges can understand and evaluate your submission.

We accept the following file types and sizes: Photographs/Images: 300MB max (png, jpeg or gif); Video: 300MB max (mp3, mp4, mpg, mov or flv); Print Materials: 300MB max (doc, docx, jpeg, gif, or pdf).

Judges come from world-recognized companies and organizations with extensive travel industry experience, including marketing professionals, executives, and operators. Meet the full panel.

All work must be from within the last year to ensure the Magellan Awards recognize the most current and recent achievements in the travel industry.

Each entry is individually scored by the judging panel and evaluated for Gold or Silver recognition. Judges look for: Relevance to the sector, innovation and creativity, quality of execution, impact and effectiveness, strength of supporting materials, and overall positive contribution to travel. To ensure impartiality, no judge evaluates entries from sectors in which they have worked.

All entry materials must remain accessible from the time of submission through the duration of judging. This includes all URLs and supplemental materials included in your entry. If your materials are removed or become unavailable, your entry may be disqualified. If your entry requires a password to access, please ensure the password is clearly provided in your entry materials.

No, each entry is measured against a rigorous standard of excellence rather than competing directly against other entries. This means the best work always wins regardless of who else enters in your category.

The number of winners varies based on the quantity and quality of submissions. A category may have multiple winners, one winner, or none at all.

Winners will be notified in October 2026 and publicly announced in a November issue of Travel Weekly.

Winning a Magellan Award includes: a feature in a November issue of Travel weekly, a custom-produced Gold or Silver statuette, official marketing assets and publicity tools to promote your achievement, and an official seal to use in your presentations and pitches.

Yes, all statuettes are ordered through our online store. When you are notified of your win, you will receive instructions for your complimentary award statuette. Each winner is able to purchase duplicates, but they must be ordered through the entering company.

Each statuette is custom produced specifically for your award. We produce and ship statuettes in the order the orders are received. You will receive them approximately 4 to 6 weeks from the date we receive your order.
