Steve Gorga, President and Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Holdings, Inc. A travel industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience, Steven J. Gorga until July 2017 was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Holdings, Inc. an investment company focused on investing in and acquiring companies that serve the travel industry. One of the first companies to become a part of Tourism Holdings, Inc. is Exclusive Group Travel which is a specialist in group and FIT travel to Mexico and the Caribbean. The company is recognized as having industry leading online group technology that greatly enhances the travel agent’s ability to book their group travel online. The company was just recently acquired by the Mark Travel Corporation.

Previously Gorga was CEO and President of Travel Impressions from July 2001 through June 2013. As a result of Gorga’s initiative and direction, Travel Impressions assumed the management in 2010 of the American Express Vacations wholesaling business based in Europe and Mexico, transforming Travel Impressions into a global wholesaler of leisure travel.

Travel Impressions, under Gorga’s leadership, embraced a strategy of service excellence, resulting in the company’s receipt of numerous industry awards for outstanding customer service, including being named Travel Weekly Readers’ Choice as “Best Tour Operator, Sales & Service” for an unprecedented nine consecutive years (2005-2013); TravelAge West’s 2010, 2011 and 2012 WAVE Award winner for “Best FIT Tour Operator;” Performance Media Group’s 2009 and 2010 Readers’ Choice as “Best Tour Operator/Wholesaler Overall;” and AAA’s 2008 “Tour Partner of the Year.”

Prior to joining Travel Impressions, Gorga was President of Kemwel Holiday Autos, the US subsidiary of Holiday Autos, the world’s largest leisure car rental wholesaler. In addition, he held the top executive positions with Utell International – The Americas, ABC Corporate Services and Robert Reid Associates. Previously, Gorga spent 15 years in numerous key leadership roles with SABRE and American Airlines within the AMR Corporation.

Gorga has traveled extensively throughout the world (55 countries and 49 states) and is a requested speaker at industry functions. In 2013, Gorga was one of 3 industry leaders inducted into the Tourism Hall of Fame. In 2009, he was one of two recipients of the Sandals Hall of Fame Award, honoring those who have made a significant contribution to the success of Caribbean tourism and the travel industry. He was named Car Rental “Person of the Year” in 2001 by Travel Agent Magazine and in 2000, Leisure Travel News selected him as one of the travel industry’s “25 Most Influential Executives.” Gorga graduated from Rider College with a BS in Commerce, majoring in Management Science, and earned an MBA in Marketing from Adelphi University.

A native New Yorker who has relocated around the country nine times, Gorga now resides in his favorite place — Sag Harbor, New York with his wife Mary. They have two children, Joe and Katie, who also live on Long Island. The newest addition to the family is his granddaughter, Lillian Harper.
